Welcome to Missing Link Martial Arts Ltd and the Gendai Koryu Karate Community. Our training at MartialArts.Scot is different. We focus on developing each student through "ShoShin Groups" — small, dedicated teams (4-6 people) that are individualized, peer-driven, professional, and extremely focused.
To ensure this high-level environment is the right fit for you, and you for us, our process begins with a two-session 1-to-1 induction.
This application form is the first step. It covers your application for the induction and, upon successful completion, your transition into a full ShoShin Membership.
Sign up: Complete the application form below. Once submitted, you will receive an email to agree on your sessions and a secure payment link for the one-time £80 Induction Fee. Your payment confirms your application.
Schedule Your Induction: The next steps are the two 1-to-1 induction sessions with on of our senior instructors. These can happen at your place or at one of our training locations.
The Induction: These sessions are for us to learn about your goals and for you to experience our unique training methods.
Mutual Decision: After your induction, we will discuss your application. If we mutually agree to proceed, your application is considered successful.
Become a Member: You will then receive your free uniform and a new, separate link to set up your monthly ShoShin Membership (£79/month) via Direct Debit.
Join Your Group: Once your membership is active, you will be invited to join your first ShoShin Group. Your monthly membership covers your primary group, with the option to join additional groups at no extra cost.

By submitting this application, you are agreeing to the terms of both the induction and the subsequent membership (if successful). Your membership officially begins on the date of your first monthly payment, following the induction.

Health & Liability: The student is urged by the dojo to assure with a GP that there are no risky health conditions that could be dangerous for the student during Karate training. Practice at the dojo is at the student’s own risk. The student holds the dojo, its instructors, officers, and owners from all claims regarding injuries.
Media Consent: The student also agrees that pictures and videos can be taken during lessons and used to promote the school and Missing Link Martial Arts in general. Please let us know if you would like to opt out of this.
Cancellation: The monthly membership (after induction) renews automatically and can be cancelled by providing 30 days' notice via the cancellation form at: www.missinglinkmartialarts.org/leave
By submitting this application, the student also agrees to the following rules of the dojo, starting from the first induction session:
I will behave respectfully and friendly. Aggressive or risky behaviour has no place in the dojo. Outside the dojo, I am aware that my skills might do harm to others - and that Karate doesn't make me invincible, especially when it comes to encounters with dangerous people.
I will take care of personal cleanliness. This includes clothes, toe- and fingernails as well as scents.
I am aware that Martial Arts are about fighting. While health and safety are important in training, fighting will cause bruises and accidents may happen. Missing Link Martial Arts Ltd and its instructors cannot be held responsible for sports injuries.
My progress in Missing Link Martial Arts depends on my own effort. Practicing regularly and staying focused during lessons will help me to improve.
The dojo does not take any responsibility for lost or stolen items.
