Scottish ShoShin Days · August 2026

Discover your martial arts.

Glasgow · East Kilbride · Edinburgh. Dates are being confirmed now. Registering your interest is free — and you'll hear first.

What is a ShoShin Day?

Two hours of real martial arts in a small group — four to six adults, no experience needed. Not a demonstration, not choreography for beginners: the actual training. How we move, how we work with a partner, how the method feels from the inside.

ShoShin (初心) means beginner's mind. It's also the only entry requirement.

Why bother?

Most of your day happens on a screen. Your body has noticed, even if you haven't. We call it debodification: modern life cuts us off from physical experience, and everything from stress to sleep pays the price.

Martial arts done well is the shortcut back. Real movement, real contact, real people — and skills that carry into everyday life: staying calm under pressure, reading a situation, holding your ground. We don't just play karate.
